Civility.....

....and calls for more of it is what happens when liberals (read Democrats) lose elections.

Have you noticed that?

Where were the calls for civility when Bush 43 won elections in 2000 and 2004? Does anyone recall the hatred and bitterness directed at Bush after both of his elections. Where were the calls for "civility" then?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm??

Hollywood even made a movie promoting the assassination of Bush.

The events in Tucson stirred more calls for civility even as many leading liberal lights (Krugman) blamed the tragedy in Tucson on people opposed to the liberal agenda. They have no shame.

One Democrat (Cohen, TN) in the US House even compared opposition to Obamacare to the Nazis and Goebbels Big Lie.

See what I mean?

So much for civility.

Our National Debt.....

.... is the total debt of the federal government since we started this experiment in republican government. It is more than 14 Trillon dollars and will go even higher.

It is 2011 and a fine mess we find ourselves in.

How did we get to this point?

Congress (all of them) and the Presidents (all of the recent ones) are primarily responsible for the financial disaster the nation faces. The federal government borrowed money to pay for programs special interests and others and some of the American people demanded. Instead of pay as you go which is what responsible Americans do every day, the feds borrowed and borrowed and borrowed more. If I were that irresponsible, I would be locked up for criminal behavior.

Unless something is done soon, the federal national debt will kill the country.

And we can thank generations of sorry politicians for spending and spending instead of balancing the federal budget. There is no reason the federal budget cannot be balanced like most businesses do and like most families do.

Thanks a lot Congress.

Keep in mind the sorry politicians raided the SS Trust Fund to pay for their special interests and the Trust Fund is empty except for worthless IOUs the politicians deposited there.

It is Congress's responsibility to make the budget. They can't even pass the budget on time and use CRs to extend the operations of the federal goverment.

Suggestions:

1. Term limits for members of Congress. No more than 12 years total "service".

2. Pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the US Constitution.

3. Cut 1930s styled programs. It is NOT 1936 and we need new thinking.

4. Cut federal salaries.

5. Stop foreign aid. It is NOT 1947 anymore.

6. Stop all subsidies (Farm, Steel, milk, cheese, PBS, NPR, rice, etc., etc. )

7. Reform SSA and related programs.

8 Terminate numerous federal agencies such as: Education (why do we need a federal Dept of Education anyway?).

9. Reform the Tax Code and the IRS.

Have a nice day!

Repeal it

Repeal it!

That's right.

Repeal the unconstitutional and unwanted (by a large majority) federal highjacking of our health care system.

The federal intrusion into this area will raise the cost of health care for everyone. It will kill jobs (except for federal bureaucrats). It will ration health care and a faceless bureaucrat in a dingy office will decide who gets treatment and who does not. Government mandated "panels" will decided who is too old, too feeble, too long on this earth for health care. It could be your grandmother.

Or it could be you.

2011...

... is here.

And in national politics a change in leadership comes to the 112th Congress. The Rs won control of the US House in November. The Ds still control the US Senate and and White House. However, this change is needed and holds promise for the new year.

What should the Rs do with control of the House?

Repeal the Federal take over of health care?

Stop spending (wasting Taxpayer money?

Rein in the Obama Adminstration out of control agencies and czars?

Pass a budget on time?

Control our borders?

Review, revise, and eliminate federal agencies created to solve 1910 or 1930 problems?

Reduce, in contrast to controlling the growth, the federal budget?

Reduce the federal salary scale?

Place Congress under Social Security?

There are numerous areas where the US House, if properly led, can make a huge difference in the nation despite the two other branches of the federal government being controlled by the Lefties.

I say YES to all of the above and more. Even if the Senate and Obama will not agree or pass or sign the changes, we need changes in this country before it is too late.

What do you think?
